MEDC seeks to enhance the economy and improve the quality of life for the residents and stakeholders in Marathon. The organization will do this by:
- Identifying barriers to economic development within and around the Town of Marathon, and developing strategies to overcome such barriers.
- Facilitating the enhancement of the economic base within and around the Town of Marathon for the economic and social benefit of its citizens.

Marathon’s newly minted Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has had a busy start to 2010 pursuing a number of projects that were still on the books from 2009 and as well as drafting a strategic action plan for 2010 and beyond.
